7.7 — weeknotes — Planning…. Spring is here!
There has been lots of planning for the next year over the last couple of months, incidentally, can’t believe it’s March already. Had the Finance Strategy Day last week and a day together with my Management Team next week to continue this.
I have also managed to carve out some time in a couple of weeks for some time to think about the next digital strategy. So much going on at the moment, I know I always say that, but I think that’s just a reflection of Local Government! But it’s important to spend time stopping and thinking and will build upon the last couple of weeks! Actually looking forward to it.
Lots of activity on TCE currently, coming to the final stages just before delivery. Also continuing the work on the ground floor as part of the Resident Experience. Final preparation for the case management system prior to going live, new process for garden waste about to go live. Always with these things there has been lumps and bumps along the way, but we are there — exciting.
We have finally got the new display screen and the kiosk down to the ground floor — these were delivered what feels like 2 years ago (it was a few months). Has taken a bit of time to get them configured but has taken me to go into telling mode to cut through some of our internal bureaucracy and processes to get it done. Very unusual for me!
I have also been implementing new print and post arrangements in the Council as well. A new solution for inbound post through a digital system, which has massively simplified the existing processes, thanks to Barbara in my team, and new outbound post arrangements — we won’t be having a physical post room anymore and a bit more self-service! We have established a new Implementation Group as well to keep a view of all elements of the new processes. Going to be a fun few weeks whist we have them bed in…
Finishing these weeknotes off in the conservatory at home with the spring sun, shining in — amazing. Was a frost this morning but spring is here!
