7.6 — weeknotes — Strategy Days…
The first of the fortnight notes this year… won’t be the last…
Three days in the office last week and three days out and about this week as well following on the theme of coming together… Still doing some work on the importance of coming into the building — but certainly the more I do it the more I appreciate it.
Last Tuesday in for CLT where I did a brief digital update, all well received. Then was meant to give a Resilience update but they were running a bit late and I had a call I had to be on for 1200 so Tim updated everyone and gave great update. More on the 1200 call I had to be on in a future week.
Last Wednesday back in the office. I bring the management team together once a month and we started the day for a ‘spoons breakfast. Great was to start the day — we went through the service plan and roadmap again getting us ready for the year ahead!
Also ended the day in spoons as it was my Mum’s birthday and she wanted to go to spoons for a birthday dinner. Perfect 😃
Thursday in again for a few meetings mainly the Directors meeting — had a couple of brief items there as well — we are doing a review of the AV in the organisation with the aim of making more efficient and we are also reviewing some of the comms as part of emergency planning and wider — so took an item on that as well.
This week had a Socitm strategy day in London on Tuesday, went through the achievements of the last year as well as thinking about the plan for the next. Some really exciting opportunities here in what is a challenging landscape in Local Government. Lots to think about there and a lot of reflecting after the event to ensure that we are making the most of the time together. Highlight of the day was the President’s Team coming together for a coffee and a catch up before the formalities of the day.
Friday was a Finance and Resources (and guests) strategy day in Chiswick. An opportunity to come together to do some service planning but also some time for some reflection for the team and individually — thinking with our values in mind. Was a good day but very full on — lots going on — lots to do but a really strong team to make it all happen!
