Coming together in person is just so important and it really has been born out this week with a few events that we have done face to face. It makes a massive difference to the conversations and the outcomes of the sessions.

On Monday we bought TCE colleagues together to do a bit of a check in, how are we feeling, what’s good, what do we need to tweak. It wasn’t just the conversations in the room that were good it extended outside the meeting as well.

Tuesday was a management training session for SLT. Over the last few months, the organisation has been doing some work with some external trainers on how we work better as a chief officer group, and this was the first of the formal development sessions. Really engaging and as well as giving us lots to think about.

Wednesday back to Hounslow House for the LGBTQ History Month event. There were some interesting and inspiring speakers — we heard about some of the amazing services that we provide to our local community. Thought provoking as well to reflect on the history, achievements, and contributions from the LGBTQ community. Particularly in the current climate, with some of the political challenges across the globe… Great session.

Thursday managed a day at home and then the digital strategy board where we discussed the Governments AI Opportunities Paper and how we are going to use that to shape the next digital strategy.

Later on Thursday about 30 of us from Hounslow went to the Houses of Parliament to meet the Hounslow MPs and have a little tour and a conversation about how we can work better with the three MPs.
