7.4 — weeknotes — Digital Trends — February already…
How is it February already, January is always a month that lasts approximately 745 days, but we are at the end of it now. The weather yesterday was actually very spring like with an amazing clear day and sun shining, more of them please!
Couple of days in the office this week which has been good. Always good to get all my managers together, which we do once a month. Spent a bit of time thinking about the plans and priorities for the next 18 months. Always more interesting to get together and do some work and some thinking rather than just listen to me for 90 minutes, although I did manage to talk and update for half an hour which was too long — will improve for the next one.
Tuesday morning was spent with the IG Team, including starting the day with some breakfast (important to support the local economy). We spent the morning looking at the plans for the next 12/18 months. we have spent a lot of time looking at improving the way that we do information governance across the Council, and we are taking this to the next level this year. Still so many things to do but was good to get together to really target the things that we need to get sorted.
Also, this week we had our Digital Strategy Board for Members where the team took the Leader and other Councillors through the work going on across the organisation for the digital strategy and digital inclusion commitment.
This was the week where we launched the Socitm Digital Trends report — always a highlight of the year — a lot of work goes into it, and it covers some great examples from such a wide range of organisations across the public sector- always worth having a look — Socitm Public Sector Digital Trends: Beyond Borders
