7.19 — weeknotes -Finger! Digital Roadshow — Business Continuity
Who knew that there are usually 5 days in a week, came as quite a shock to me this week and I am told there are another 5 days next week as well… The weather does make a difference though, the sun does make things feel brighter — although in true British style it has been too hot this week. :-)
Started the week off with a hospital appointment for the finger recovery and now have an elaborate and scary looking contraption to bend the finger a bit more!
Then in Hounslow House for a couple of days this week and all the fun of trains without air-conditioning.
Tim and I gave SLT an update on Resilience on Tuesday, very brief as was a packed agenda — but updated on policy updates / exercises / business continuity updates / WhatsApp group / West London work and local preparations for the extreme heat.
Another monthly management day together this week, as usual started with a small breakfast at spoons. Always good to set up the day as we always cover a huge amount of ground in the day — topics included: Structure and staffing, business continuity plans, projects, service plan and more. I took some time out of the day to chat to the team who were doing a Digital Roadshow session — this is our attempts at trying to be more proactive and getting colleagues using the tech rather than just logging a call. It was fair to say that I was there for the pringles but was great to catch up with the team. They really enjoy these more practical sessions so really want to do more of them!
Friday was the West London Regional Resilience Board that brings together the Authorities of West London to go through a range of Resilience and Emergency Planning topics that then feed into the wider London process. Was a good session and we went over my thoughts for the governance / flows and meetings for the region that we are going to pilot in the west and may be rolled out in other areas. The aim is that we get a regular rhythm to the meetings and coming together at all levels.
