6.8 — weeknotes — Socitm @ Sheffield and our moral responsibility
Monday was the TCE Board, so in the office for that one. Was a great meeting with so much going on as well. The next 3 months are going to be hectic but really interesting.
Tuesday morning was a packed Socitm day with both the management meeting and the Trustee Board — the inaugural Trustee Board for the new charity. A real opportunity to make a step change with the services we are providing and making a difference.
Then a journey to Sheffield for the first of the national in person events for Socitm. Always nice to let the train take the strain, meant that I was able to do a chunk of work catching up with emails — when the Wi-Fi was working!
What a Socitm session that was, a jam-packed day.. With so much passion in the room, some great energy, in person events are just so powerful.

The Innovators session was amazing, 5 companies who have looked at some challenges and used tech and data to try and solve them. More here and the latest challenges. Challenge LDN | London City Hall
The Local Government context and environment at the moment is challenging and a bit miserable at time. But Huw, who expertly chaired the day, finished by reminding us of our moral responsibility to use today to learn and take what we’ve learnt to drive change forwards, to be positive and to deliver to our communities. #love
Also in the office on Thursday for a team meeting which was really good. Always a better conversation when colleagues come face to face. A packed agenda — a intro from Jake — a session on the Team Charter — a demo of the new Granicus system — some core updates and some team building at the end. I think we may have been making too much noise as a colleague came over but soon joined in :-).
