6.7 — weeknotes — Socitm is now a charity — Welcome to Jake — Staff awards — RPA now live
So this was the week that Socitm officially became a charity — this is amazing news.
For a while now Socitm has had the aspiration to become a charity and ensure it is able to continue to deliver and drive change with its members. It is a detailed and longwinded process and has required the dedication and oversight of a range of Socitm colleagues. But a particular thanks to David Bryant for driving this forward and sticking with it.
It really does feel that this marks a change in the landscape and opportunities for Socitm and will enable some amazing work in the future — proud to be President at this key moment.
Hectic week at work as well! When is it not?
Was in the office 3 days this week — and got the train in and out every day — even got a weekly season ticket — all felt very pre pandemic. Actually, commuting like that is really hard work and so easy to forget that!
Welcomed Jake to Hounslow as Exec Director of Finance and Resources this week and have started to bombard him with information overload :-)
A number of briefings with the Leader this week on the Digital Portfolio and some specific projects — bit of a rollercoaster conversation with some highs and lows — one project being delayed — but went live this week with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with a process in our Children’s service — exciting times ahead!
It was the One Hounslow Staffing awards this week and we had several digital colleagues as finalists. Whilst we didn’t win, I am incredibly pleased to be working in an organisation that really, genuinely values its employees.
These awards not only celebrate individual achievements but also highlight teamwork, innovation, community impact, and continuous learning within the council It really does help create a positive workplace culture.
Tune of the week: (blast from the past!): Klubbhopping (Radio Mix)
