6.5 — weeknotes — approach to risk

Forgot to say last week but how is it February already! Actually, it’s nearly mid-February.

We had a CLT/SLT workshop session on Risk Management on Tuesday which went through the Councils current and future approach to risk. Was a wide-ranging discussion as we start to bed the new structure in. I know I say it often but it’s so good to do these things face to face.

I think we have really good processes for managing risk across the Council but we can always improve. We discussed bringing it alive a bit more across the council and embedding into roles and processes more — taking more ownership and accountability.

We have been looking at changes to Hounslow House for a while now and this is starting to gather momentum (slowly). Went to Capital Strategy Board and updated the Leader about some of the plans this week. Little bit of work to do before a lot of work….

Started to pick up more around my new element of the role with the Resilience team. Some good conversations this week around what we need to do over the next few weeks and months. Really going to bring this alive across the council in a very practical way.

Had the Socitm special meeting on Tuesday to agree a very minor change in the organisations objects to enable the next steps of the road to charitable status. Now we have this we should be good to make it happen. Massive amount of work gone into this so everything crossed.

Tune of the week: Not So Bad (feat. Emie)

Not Hounslow but London looking amazing on Thursday…
