A bit of a strange week this week as due to a couple of reasons I worked at home all week. Firstly, the van was getting some TLC and getting it’s roof resprayed and secondly I was feeling under the weather with a cold, so didn’t want to share that with anyone!

Whilst on one hand it felt good to be at home, I certainly needed it, but was a very hectic week anyway so ended up spending a lot of time just in front of the screen, how very 2020! However, I really missed having that social interaction with people.

It was a hectic week this week with lots of meetings scarcely time in between to make coffee (although Ialways manage to find time for coffee). One of my Christmas presents was a milk frother so all my drinks recently have been lattes.

A hectic but good week.

This week saw the launch of the Digital Trends reports from Socitm. This really is an amazing report which is genuinely impressive. It is the coming together of a wealth of information and thought leadership from across the world. It really sets the scene of the challenges that we have in Local Government and the opportunities to really drive the change needed to do things differently.

You can find the report and the infographic here.

Thursday morning had a great session with West London Alliance (WLA) Digital colleagues. We are formalising the group to deliver against some of the WLA outcomes. Was great to get everyone together and the team from the WLA were awesome at pulling it all together.

Digital Strategy Board this week which we had to condense into an hour and didn’t quite manage to get through all the updates, but we did manage to get through the key decisions that we needed to make.

Lots of conversations in a variety of forms around AI this week, embedded in the Digital Trends work as well as being a hot topic in the CEX Q&A session this week. So only fitting we have a connected tune of the week…
