6.29 — weeknotes — surgery!
A rather strange week for me this week…
In Hounslow on Monday for the TCE Board, so much going on in this area now was useful to see where we are with the programme. There had been a few questions around progress of the CRM element of the work. So, we did a bit of a deep dive on the major milestones and work on this over the next three months. So much going on now but we need to ensure that we really focus on the delivery.
On Thursday had the portfolio update with the Leader, so updated him on the digital portfolio as well as Resilience. Several key documents and plans being updated now including the Major Emergency Plan. These plans ensure that the council can respond in a major emergency and is part of the framework for a wider London response. Going to Directors Group next week.
Thursday evening had the digital strategy board for Members where we went through the digital portfolio as well as an update on the Digital Inclusion Commitment. Also started to think about the next versions of the Digital Strategy.
Tues, I had surgery on my finger! One of the most surreal experiences of my life I have to say. As mentioned last week I managed to break my finger on holiday, and it needed resetting. NHS did that on Tuesday and will now ensure that it sets in the right place — thanks to a couple of screws!! Looking forward to airport security in the future already.
It was a local anastatic so was awake for the whole procedure, for the squeamish amongst us, stop reading now… Everyone was really good, but because the break happened a few weeks ago it was a bit more complex to reset, rebreak and pull together. It was the drilling and the filing of the bones that was a special highlight, feeling the vibrations and the noise — connected and totally disconnected!! Anyways — already feels better, at least in the right place — stitches out next week…..
Was in a bit of pain on Wednesday so needed a day to rest and recover! So a Halloween marathon of movies and watching the budget was the answer!! A massive thank you to the NHS I have to say — just awesome!
