How is it Friday already I really genuinely don’t know where this week has gone!

Another week with lots crammed in. At Hounslow House on Tuesday for our joint leadership meeting with the Corporate Leadership Team. As usual a wide range of topics were discussed. Firstly the State of the Borough — there is so much place based and rich data associated with this report and it really goes into a lot of detail bringing together many data sources, this then enables the Council to really understand the Borough and where the need is. It was discussed and approved at council on Tuesday evening I urge you to have a look — State of the Borough (2024) — Hounslow Data Hub

The other main topic of conversation was the budgets both in terms of bringing this financial year into a balanced budget and the council’s plans for savings over the next few years. The financial positioning of local government is not in a good place Hounslow is no exception to this, whilst not as bad as others as a challenging few years ahead.

After 1700 on Tuesday, as part of our Transforming Community Experience programme, colleagues and a external who are making our new reception desk came into Hounslow House to template and mark up the new desk to ensure it gets built correctly. A month or so to go before we start to get it installed — exciting times.

Thursday in the office for a couple of meetings and then an evening meeting for Overview & Scrutiny Committee for the Delivery Plan which includes the Digital Portfolio. O&S gives Councillors, on behalf of the community, the opportunity to question and challenge the organisation with the aim of improving services. Providing a very important local democracy role.

Friday morning was Socitm Partner Day — where we come together for a couple of hours with potential and existing partners to talk about everything that Socitm has to offer over the next 12 months. Lots of opportunities for partners to get involved in all the good work — Partnership — Socitm
