At least we are starting to get a bit of summer this week. Wasn’t feeling 100% at the start of the week so it’s been a deliberately slow start to the week, so probably shorter weeknotes this week!

In Hounslow a couple of days this week and I started the week a visit to the hygienist which is never fun (actually it was alright and I didn’t get too told off).

Tuesday was a joint CLT/SLT in Hounslow House. Heard from Niall on some of the focus, challenges and opportunities over the next few years. Certainly some opportunities with the new Labour Government so lots to look out for.

Wednesday was a tough day. Lots of meetings, in fact 16 of them (yes I counted) over the course of the day. Doesn’t often happen but when it does it’s not a good day, draining and prevents the ability to do any actual work. But I survived (poor me I know).

Lots of activities around Housing and Planning systems this week as well. Bedding in of major systems after massive changes of legacy systems like we have done over the past few months is never easy. We have to keep the pressure on ourselves and everyone to continue to drive things forwards. But more importantly to support colleagues who are going through the changes and new ways of working. Definitely realised this week that we need to do more with colleagues to raise digital skills and support in making their lives easier!

Had a great evening on Thursday. A work social at the Oval to watch Surrey v Hampshire. Not a massive cricket fan but a great evening, great weather and great company. Surrey won as well which was a bonus.

Tune of the Week: (only one choice really this week) 10cc — Dreadlock Holiday — I don’t Like Cricket

Actually a treat this week — we have two Tunes of the Week — sometimes the hardest part of writing weeknotes is deciding the tune of the week — so I always reach out to colleagues and friends for suggestions… So Recommended Tune of the Week — Love this song! Dasha — Austin (Official Music Video) (thanks Mike :-))
