Back to two days in the office this week and three at home, feels a bit more of a nicer balance. But that was in part that the day in London that we were due to have was cancelled due to the train strikes.

Another hectic week with TCE programme board on Monday, then we have kicked off some of the supplier demonstrations that will take place over the next couple of weeks. Really good to get these going.

It has been a week of 1 to 1 and general catch ups from team members to my boss through to external organisations as well. Actually really enjoyed them — some face to face and others virtual. 1–2–1s are definitely better face to face, you get a better conversation over a coffee!

On Tuesday my management team got together to continue planning for the next 12 months. There is so much going on at the moment it’s really important to take stock of everything , identify the priorities, get involved in the detail of those things not working quite as they should be and think about resources. We have put in new governance in Digital to ensure that we keep track on everything both change and operational — trying to link everything together and keep things simple at the same time is a challenge.

To add to an exciting week the budget and the news from government that they were banning TikTok on government devices over security concerns. Always something to keep an eye on and ensure that you are always looking up and out from the organisation.

You will all be very pleased to know that #washingmachinegate has now been resolved… almost. So on Sunday a new washing machine was delivered and the old one was taken away — hurrah. All I have to do is get the integrated door put back on and of course these things are never straight forward, there was a leak in the hose pipe so I’m having to replace that this weekend. Almost there…

Tune of the week: Miley Cyrus — Flowers (Official Video) — well a vague link to Spring!!!

London looking lovely from Clapham Junction — and fuelling my inner train spotter…
