Another week flown past and February already, I know I must be getting old! Actually January was both the fastest month ever and the slowest all at the same time!!!

Been a big week this week, due to the amount of change and transformation over the next 12 months I have started to change a few things around in the team and was able to announce the first part of that to the wider team this week. Always mindful of how this makes people feel so trying to do it in the right way.

One of the other things that I am trying to reset and get right is the amount of time and our approach to meetings. Over time the diary gets clogged up with meetings upon meetings and there becomes less and less time to do the actual work. Over the last couple of weeks have been having a think and review about what we really need to have to ensure success.

So out with the old and in with the new for 2023, a fresh range of meetings to ensure to deliver. Obviously it’s not just the time in the diary its the objectives and approach. So bringing more rigour into the discussions as well, clearer outcomes and so on. All hoping that we actually all have some more time to actually do the work and deliver what we need to. We had the first of our Digital Delivery meetings this afternoon and was really good engagement and focus from all!

Another week of a couple of days in Hounslow House. In on Tuesday for the extended CLT / SLT bringing together of all senior managers in the first of these joint meetings. It was really good! A big meeting in terms of number of people, but the depth of conversation and the topics we got through were meaty! Discussed the World of Work current status, a few key decisions on the work around the building and then some thinking about what it all really means for the future — certainly the building is busier and we have started the rollout of the new in room hybrid devices which will help further. We also reviewed the Cabinet reports for February for a number of key transformation projects.

The team had a business insight project team meeting the other day, great to get teams together to move this forwards. Using the collaboration space in the building — we definitely need more of this type of space as we move forwards.

Tune of the week: Going old school this week — after hearing this at a local pub quiz! Candi Staton — Young Hearts Run Free
