A strange week this week as it is a week at work, sandwiched between two weeks of holiday — so have tried to catch up from the previous one and prepare for the next one as well as doing a couple of weeks worth of work in the same time. Been a good week though.

Has been a really busy week with getting back into the swing of things. On Tuesday morning we had a Socitm strategy day which is the first of two sessions thinking about the next 12 months and beyond, it was a really useful session and some amazing things coming up.

Tuesday afternoon I went to Hammersmith as part of the West London Alliance connectivity group to have a meeting with colleagues there around some of the work that we have been doing around smart place. Again some really interesting things coming up that could really make a difference in West London. Even bumped into a colleague I worked with in Epsom & Ewell a number of years ago — we did a comedy double take as we saw each other — what you doing here? Was good to catch up, even if it was briefly.

Wednesday evening was the digital strategy board for Members where we went through the work that we have been doing across the council on digital inclusion and some of the major projects — some really good work on inclusion making a difference in the community. For this one we also gave a couple of slides of some of the ‘smaller’ things that we have been doing, just some bullet points to give a flavour of some of the other work that we have been doing, including some of the apprenticeship work. I think this went down really well as showed a wider view of Digital & IT — so will consider how we include this in the future.

Heard from MindOut this week that we raised over £2,600 for them as part of the President’s Conference #Proud…

Off again next week for some camping in the UK, so fingers crossed for the weather!
