I have had actual real people comment to me about my weeknotes over the past couple of weeks and it is really nice to firstly know that people are actually reading them and that they are vaguely useful. Although one of those comments was to constructively review my Tune of the Week — as I said to them I would happily take requests.

Highlight of this week was the Socitm Share National in Cardiff. Travelled up on Monday afternoon for the conference the day after. Arrived at 4 ish after the trains behaved themselves — actually a really good journey — why would you ever want to drive! Then was VERY GOOD and went for a run in the park opposite the hotel — was awesome — really quite pleased with myself for making the effort and it was 5k in under 30minutes.

Tuesday was the conference and it was jam packed. Hosted at the Principality Stadium and on the theme of Regeneration, sustainability and connectivity. Was great to hear from colleagues — over this really important subject. Some eye watering numbers around the green agenda when it comes to technology — and something we should really be aware of when procuring tech. Some awesome insights from Pye on using data to build more effective services.

As usual the Top Talent presentation was amazing. Such a great way to end the day as well, their presentation, insight and thinking was really insightful.

Continued this week working on the Service Plan and Roadmap this week — really good to get everything in place for the next 12 months. Another day this week of mini meetings — but once again good to move things along.

Looking forward to the long weekend! First of many this month!

Tune of the week (seems fitting): Stereophonics live at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff (Local Boy in the Photograph) 21st July 2001
