4.13 — weeknotes -Finalists in the MJ Awards for Digital Transformation!!!
I am writing this on Friday afternoon watching the snow fall outside as the sun shines brightly down — definitely a strange week weather wise — hot sunshine one moment and snow the next — very odd. I definitely chose the right couple of days to have off last week — actually caught the sun a bit!
Good news alert!!
Really pleased to be able to formally announce now that we are finalists in the digital transformation category of the MJ Awards this year!!!! Really proud of this. A great acknowledgement for the council, for digital and IT team and all the various project teams across the council who have worked on the delivery.
We have a judging day in May and then the ceremony in June — so everything crossed. But whatever happens really pleased to have got through to being a finalist.
Back to reality…
Tuesday was another day in Hounslow House, got the train in which again was nice to have some normality. Even better, the early connecting train was late, which meant no hanging around Clapham Junction — result! Nice day in the office — slowly starting to increase the numbers coming in— we have reopened the coffee shop on the ground floor — so that will help get people back!
Managed to carve out a day this week to not have many meetings, almost none, but not quite! It was really good timing as I managed to get lots of actual work completed. In this hybrid world and spending so much time on teams, it becomes even more important to get time and space in the diary to get stuff done!
Had the check in session for my Level 7 course as well this week, was really good to have the chance to reflect on what we have done over the last few months. More importantly to think about how I can use the course to make change happen in the council and the team. Lots to think about here — but good to get some positive feedback — especially on the assignment.
Next week I am actually in the office for three days! Not sure whether that is good or bad but looking forward to it.
