2.24 -the virtual pub quizzes…

I always seem to start these with the phrase another hectic week, but they do all seem to be, although all good as working things forwards and making progress. I have sort of lost track of the days of the week as well as they all merge into one! I know I am not the only one here…

This week has been a wet one, but nice to see the grass growing back again and it has meant I haven’t had to water the vegetable patch this week. The green house is also starting to look good! Have definitely been a domestic god this week and have made bread as well, well technically this is the third time I have made it but this was the first one that look like a loaf of bread…

Some good news this week as we obtained another year certification for the PSN network which ensures that the network infrastructure and approach to cyber security is of a high standard. Always good to get the external validation on the security of the network, especially with the increased threat risk due to the coronavirus. Also links well to the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation that we received the other month.

We have spent a bit of time this week on budgets and working our way through the capital programme of work. There is a lot to ensure that we get aligned with the various projects and programmes and make sure that everything is joined up. Will take a bit more work with Finance to make sure that we get this right, but putting the time in now will ensure that it will be much easier as we go along (he says confidently!)

We have also been nominated this week for the 19 Challenge at work by the Public Health team who have been organising the challenges for charity to get teams healthier. Our challenges that we have to do over the next week — 19 minutes of exercise a day; 19 minutes of meditation a day and finish 19 meals with a piece of fruit… luckily we don’t have to do all three. Already starting to get the team thinking and already some interesting fancy dress costumes as part of this…

Friday saw a workshop with LOTI where we went over the various projects and workstreams that are taking place. There is a huge amount of activity going on across London here and the potential for joining up and making a difference across London. Just need a bit of time next week to ensure that we are engaged at the right time / level at Hounslow to make sure that we make the most of the opportunity.

Last Friday was the semi regular virtual Digital & IT pub evening — and the team went into overdrive…we had a Hounslow themed pub quiz as well as Rob doing a guess the intro on his guitar. Was good to see the team getting together and talking about non work related stuff. Had more quizzes this week as well — although I was rubbish!
