2.47 — a short week this week…
A three day week for me this week as am off on Thursday and Friday to try and put the house together after new carpets, also do a bit of Christmas shopping and put the tree up. Monday I took delivery of a new dishwasher this week, which is good, but I didn’t realise it was a smart dishwasher — connects to the wifi and has an app. I am really not sure whether I need an app for the dishwasher!!
Cyber security and the protection of our resident’s data is one of the most important responsibilities that we have as local authorities. I attended board this week to update where we are with our cyber prepardness. We went through some of the things that we have in place at the moment, some of the things that we are doing to improve the situation and a discussion around training. There is a renewed focus in the council to ensure that we all get the annual refresher training done!
Tuesday was another LOTI all member workshop. I could only stay for the first half hour but was able to get an update on the various projects. I was also able to give an update on the innovation in procurement project for the Housing system. We have had a couple of workshops with Public and Wednesday afternoon was the final one — really good to see a number of councils come together to explore the options here and believe we are going to make some very practical next steps…
We had another Digital Inclusion Group this week where we are trying to ensure that we don’t leave any one behind when it comes to digital. Starting to gather some momentum, there is already a lot going on across the council and our aim is to maximise what we are doing.
Going back to board next week with more updates over the one Hounslow transformation programme so lots of time preparing for that- building on what we took the other week.
Thursday evening was the Socitm Leadership Academy Alumni event where those who have attended the various Leadership programmes that Socitm runs come together for an evening of celebration. Have to say that listening to some of the journey’s that people have been on is inspirational!
